Here’s a simple method for making a Veg Sandwich:
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bread (whole wheat or white)
- 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 small tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- ½ carrot, grated
- ½ capsicum (bell pepper), thinly sliced (optional)
- 1 small boiled potato, sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter (for spreading)
- 2 tbsp green chutney (optional, for added flavor)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper or chaat masala to taste
- Cheese slices (optional)
- Fresh lettuce or spinach leaves (optional)
Method:
-
Prep the Veggies: Wash and thinly slice the cucumber, tomato, onion, capsicum, and potato (if using). Grate the carrot.
-
Prepare the Bread:
- Take the bread slices and spread butter on one side of each slice.
- Spread a thin layer of green chutney (if using) over the buttered slices for added flavor.
-
Assemble the Sandwich:
- Start by placing a few slices of cucumber on one slice of bread.
- Add a few tomato slices on top of the cucumber.
- Place onion slices, grated carrot, and capsicum over the tomato layer.
- Add boiled potato slices if using.
- Sprinkle some salt, pepper, or chaat masala over the veggies for taste.
-
Add Cheese (Optional):
- Place a cheese slice on top of the vegetables if you want a cheesy flavor.
-
Finish the Sandwich:
- Cover the sandwich with another slice of bread (buttered side down).
- Press gently.
-
Toast or Grill (Optional):
- You can eat the sandwich as is, or toast it in a sandwich maker or grill it on a heated pan until golden brown and crispy.
-
Serve:
- Cut the sandwich into halves or quarters, serve with ketchup or more green chutney on the side.
Enjoy your fresh, crunchy veg sandwich!
